So here is what it looked like the day after the Snowpocalypse, Snowmageddon, Snowtorious B.I.G, whatever you'd like to call it. We had a huge chunk of the tree in the front yard fall over, and cars buried to the point that you could no longer see them. It was slightly surreal to see people in hoards trudging along down the street, emerging from the snow screen. Even more so when not a car could be seen in any directions, and you get passed by people in tennis racket snow shoes and cross country skis. It was hard not to imagine that this was a post-apocalyptic world with such a huge world symbol just a block and a half in the distance, obscured by the continuously falling snow.

. . . and all the same I've lost myself and walked along the land. These steady steps, I fear them so, as I long for leaping decks and the ocean's unholy hands. Where one horison leads to another, and the end you can not tell. But alas, it's here I sit amognst the trees, and from my dreams dispelled.

Those pictures are great. It really shows what a winter wonderland DC turned into. And that tree out front! How did you get in and out of your apartment? Thanks for finally posting, it was worth the wait. ;-)
Your photos are absolutely wonderful, and some of them are really eerie! After your pix and Stephanie's pix, I feel like our puny 12 inches of snow in NE Ohio were nothing. I hope you can keep enjoying the historic weather event! It'll be a nice memory when the weather is 95 degrees and 90% humidity...
quite interesting post. I would love to follow you on twitter.
